Hello All Hams in the Miami Area,

It has come to my attention that the 444.325 repeater in Miami is much
like channel 19 is or was on CB radio.
I visited the area today and heard the activities for myself.
I am appalled at what I heard today.
Lot’s of cussing, comments about jamming other repeaters, explicit
sexual comments, threats against other hams, etc…
These types of activities by Ham Radio operators is not permissible by
part 97 rules of the FCC and are subject to fines and penalties.

It has been??happening?? intermittently, but regularly, for some time now. The behavior on that repeater is indeed appalling.

Not sure who the trustee of that repeater is but it appears that they are not monitoring the repeater.

The trustee is monitoring the repeater. The trustee also monitors activities on 75&80m where the “pro” hams hangout. The repeater activities seem rather docile compared to what’s on the international bands.

The trustee

 Hello Robert,
I am staying focused on the 444.325 repeater at this time.
Since you are the trustee, you have an obligation to insure that those using your repeater are operating according to Part 97 rules.

No problem. I will advise the users of your concerns. They may wish to consult with you on your machine.

I stay away from it because of that.  In addition to your comments, the users ( by the way I do not think they are certified) act as if the frequency is theirs and will not stop talking while not identifying themselves.

It is indeed appalling!
